Someone contacted me today to tell me to remove a picture of them from Hiyaablog (my comic journal). There are a number of strange things about this:
Firstly, if it had been a picture of someone else, they’d have no real right to tell me to remove their photo because the background pic I used to collage the frame was public domain.
Secondly, the person was just plain wrong. It wasn’t a photo of this man, it was unfortunately a photo of me. When you desaturate your photos and screw with the filters enough, your comic version of yourself might just end up looking like someone else.
And lastly, how did this person find me? Has some sort of facial recognition software wrongly identified my mug as my doppleganger’s OR has my distribution grown? I suspect a profiling service like Pipl is mistagging this guy and assaulting my game.
