I’m sort of fascinated with the idea of the “blook” or blog book. When I first started blogging a friend bought me a copy of “Never Threaten to Eat Your Co-Workers: Best of Blogs”. In it veteran bloggers like actor Wil Wheaton and Dooce’s Heather B. Armstrong had excerpts of their posts included in a large anthology. It was strange to see a web medium published in a different way. Today, with the advent of the web release as well as indie publishing services like Blurb and Lulu, on-demand publishing whether in print format or web format is a piece of cake. The only problem is…how do you create your blook?
That clever bastard and creator of the London Blog Club (and more recently the San Francisco Blog Club) Murray Newlands has it all figured out. Not only has he crowdsourced a series of how-to blog resources from guys like Chris Brogan, Tom Foremski and little old me, but he’s published it and getting us to talk about our favorite subject. You think it’s blogging right? Wrong. It’s ourselves as bloggers. Anyways, if you want to download Murray’s book it’s available at HowToMakeABlogBook.com. Just to one up Murray I might crowdsource a book about crowdsourcing.
